A DVD-R 4,7 Gb can be played on most multimedia PC's and the latest generation stand-alone DVD-players.

The costs for encoding a VHS, S-VHS, Hi-8 or DV tape in PAL format including the DVD-R are:

Using high grade encoders the video tape is translated into an MPEG file and store it on either CD-rom or DVD.
